Successful Certificate of Lawfulness

Our application for a certificate of lawfulness for proposed use was granted in August. The client was seeking confirmation that their proposed use of a former office as a creche/nursery was lawful and did not require planning permission. Since 2020, offices (formerly B1) now fall under the Class E use, and nurseries (formerly D1) also fall under the Class E use. As such, we were able to confirm the new use through a certificate of lawfulness, as there was no change in the class use of the premises which would require planning permission.
