Successful objection Parliament Hill, Camden
September 2024
We prepared and submitted a letter of objection on behalf of clients against proposed extensions and alterations to a flat within the South Hill Park Estate Conservation Area. The proposed works included raising the height of the front roof slopes and the erection of a single-storey roof extension.
We undertook our own heritage report to object to the proposal, which concluded that the plan “causes less than substantial harm to the significance of assets (without public benefits) and fails to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the conservation area.”
The proposal was refused as the officers agreed with the reasons we set out in our objection; primarily that the roof extension was too large and detrimental to the conservation area, local character, and against local policies.
